Review: Just Read!

Just Read! Just Read! by Lori Degman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the background of one of the pictures there is a character who looked rather familiar, like one of Miroslav Sasek's bits in This is London.

According to the note on the dust jacket, the illustrator is a fan of 50s and 60s picture books.

Good text, quality illustrations.

Review: William & the Missing Masterpiece

William & the Missing Masterpiece William & the Missing Masterpiece by Helen Hancocks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

William & the Missing Masterpiece - Helen Hancocks William bears a startling resemblance to our own reading buddy, Calder Alexander Eno, who is a very big cat. He'd be even taller than William , I think, were he to start walking about on his hind legs. William is trying to solve a mystery about an art heist during the Cheese festival. Calder is mysterious and is named after an artist. All of the humans and some of the cats in our house are crazy about cheese.
There was no way we weren't going to love this book.
