Each generation is progressively closer to getting its priorities straight, I'd say.
I'm with Kitt-- it's easy to have pretty bookshelves if you don't have any books!
Hear, hear! Bookshelves are for books. And Cd's and opera scores and all the papers I still haven't gotten around to filing and art supplies and stuffed animals and... Actually, I'm noticing that I haven't actually unpacked any of my books yet... I guess boxes are for books too. I just got back from a visit with Nan and her house feels just like home because you find books there Everywhere. There are stuffed bookshelves on every wall and piles on every flat surface. Your mother would not approve...
